Mrs. Laureen Harper, wife of the Honourable Prime Minister of Canada, was the Honourary Chair of the 2008 Fur Ball. The gala, held at the National Gallery of Canada, raised more than $125,000 dollars.  The funds will support various Ottawa Humane Society services, including Emergency Animal Protection and the Humane Education School Program.
